How to play
No installs, no accounts. Pick a card on the home page, hit play, and close the modal when you are finished. Here is everything else worth knowing before your first round.
Starting a game in the modal
- Go to the games grid on the home page.
- Tap or click Play now on any chicken game card.
- A panel opens above the page with the title loaded inside a GameMonetize iframe.
- Press the X button or hit Escape to close and return to the lineup.
Your browser stays on www.thewoodenspoonco.com the whole time. The game itself runs inside the secure embedded player — you never leave our domain.
Controls by device
Phone or tablet: Most titles use taps, swipes, or on-screen buttons. Rotate to landscape if a runner feels cramped in portrait — arcade and sprint titles often prefer a wider view.
Laptop or desktop: Keyboard arrows, spacebar, and mouse clicks are common. Individual games show brief hints on their loading screen.
Slow connection: Wait for the first load to finish before tapping again. Reloading mid-session usually costs more data than letting assets cache.
Tips by game type
- Tower defense (Merge Cannon: Chicken Defense) — drag or tap to merge cannons and place defences before each wave arrives. Upgrade early; late merges cost precious seconds when chickens swarm the gate.
- Farming (Frenzy Chicken Farming) — tap pens, feeders, and hatcheries in sequence. Balance expansion with feed supply; rushing new coops before stock runs dry stalls your whole farm.
- Crossy (Crossy Chicken) — tap or swipe to hop one lane at a time. Watch traffic rhythm before you move; patience beats frantic jumps on busy roads.
- Escape (Scary Chicken Feet Escape) — explore rooms, collect clues, and interact with objects. Read on-screen prompts; backtracking is normal when a door needs a key you missed.
- Runner (Chicken Wild Run) — tap to turn, swipe for quick lane changes, and grab coins without breaking your sprint rhythm. Stamina drains fast — learn when to coast instead of zigzagging.
Tips for better sessions
- Keep your browser updated — Chrome, Firefox, and Safari all work; Edge does too.
- Close other heavy tabs if a 3D title stutters on an older phone.
- Mute tab audio if you are in a shared space; most games respect the browser mute state.
- Set a loose time limit — five minutes is enough for a genuine break without losing your afternoon.
